EX17 Stratification metrics from the 2008 to 2009 profiles
The seiche periods here are CALCULATED, not measured: a two-layer estimate from one cast and an assumed basin length. Both 90 km and 110 km are shown because the answer moves by about a fifth between them. This does not fill NA1, which is about a measured, published period. It is a worked example.
- What it contains, and where it is
- Thermocline depth, metalimnion bounds, buoyancy frequency, reduced gravity and two internal seiche period estimates, computed for each of the twelve casts in EX12.
